Emily studied film at Columbia College and Art Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. At UIC, Emily received numerous honors, including the Chancellor’s Student Service award of 2007 for her volunteer work with Chicago orphans and help running the student gallery. Emily dabbled in a variety of jobs; as a showroom and studio assistant at Mars Gallery, as a Production Assistant for Warner Bros. based film productions, as a build shop worker for Redmoon Theater, managing large scale paint teams, and designing designer suit catalogs. She has also taught in a variety of settings; teaching fine arts at the Meskill Senior Center, Ceramics at the D.P.D, New Media at Deerpath Middle School West, sculpture out of her studio in Lacuna Lofts, and now at Gallery 37. She currently works in freelance web development and social media management for creatives. Emily is also an active artist. Emily’s work spans numerous mediums; to the point that there are few areas she has yet to delve into. However she enjoys multi-medium drawing and sculpture the most. Her subjects are diverse and can range from whimsical twists on reality to full on fantasy or science fiction. Her work has been shown throughout Chicago and suburban galleries, at the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital Wing, and the Chicago Botanic Gardens.
