COVID-19
Remote LEarning

We've kicked off our NEW remote learning plan at Advanced Arts!

All Advanced Arts students are expected to participate in remote learning!
Many of you have already been engaging with your teachers and completing work via Google classroom - thank you!  Our remote learning plan clearly states when each class will be meeting online. If you have not yet engaged with your teachers, now is the time.  Completed assignments will help your grade, while missing work will be marked incomplete until completed.

Communicate with Your Teachers Regularly!
If you are having trouble completing coursework, having technology issues, or are ill, let us know.  Our main priority is creating a plan for your success. Each teacher and administrator will be holding a daily “office hour” where they will be available to provide immediate answers/feedback.  Check Google Classroom for each teacher’s Office Hour.

Parents!
Please encourage students to stay engaged in academic activities on a daily basis.  Students will benefit from routine, encouragement and a strong partnership between families and school staff.

YOU can do this, WE can do this!
Remote learning is new to all of us.  Please be flexible, patient, and engaged as we embark on this plan.  We believe this can be a positive experience that will assist your artistic journey, academic achievement, and educational goals. Share your hard work on your own social media as well! Want us to share your hard work on our school social media?  Students can how submit work to be displayed on our social media!

Our expectations during remote learning:
1.) Check Google Classroom and CPS email daily
2.) Create a daily plan, weekly schedule and get into a routine
3.) Engage in live learning with your teachers: including Google hangouts/chats, Google classroom discussions
4.) Complete all assignments by the due date; upload to Google classroom or email to your teacher
5.) Abide by the CPS Code of Conduct; this includes academic integrity and online behavior/etiquette
6.) Communicate with teachers during office hours and/or email if you have questions about or cannot complete an assignment
7.) The number of assignments will vary by class but plan to commit 54 minutes a day to AAP course engagement (270 minutes per week).

Please continue taking care of each other and yourselves as we face this health crisis together.  We know there are unknowns ahead, but we will do whatever it takes to keep the CPS Advanced Arts Program students safe, healthy, and engaged during this time.  We hope to see you soon and we look forward to seeing all the amazing work you are doing from home!

From all of us at Advanced Arts, be well, be safe, stay home.
